College of Jurisprudence which was established in 1958- has been re-opened in 2003-2004. It lies in the north- east of Najaf, city of Muslim scholars and jurists. The reason behind establishing this religious edifice is to stand on Islamic heritage, to prepare anew generation contributing with the great transformations taking place in the new Iraq as well. The faculty grants B.A. degree, M.A degree and PhD degree in sharia and Islamic studies.

It’s view :To erect epistemic and scientific continuance link between academic achievement and that of hawse , and to bridge a gap between them by using scientific thinking machineries and it’s methods to contribute religious knowledge concentration in view of that fact it is a basic element of the human knowledge which is harmonious with the time not cut from the heritage .It’s mission:Forriching the student with the religious study and with knowledge and gaining him wanted skills which  enable him to carry out his role in enriching the knowledge which must be harmonious with the time .
It’s aims :Perpetrate notables teachers , educationists , researchers with a high Islamic education according to ahulpreachers with a high Islamic educating to ahulBait’s (prophet successor peace be upon them also to know the knowledge of other Islamic faiths .& Bring in academic methods and arranging the studying subjects students and faciliting the study of academic book and it’s phrases .& Working to raise educationists qualifications in studies of hawza and encourage them to follow modern developments in fields of education , psychology and methods of study.
Studies
  • Undegraduate Study : the aim of the faculty is to prepare notable educational teachers with high Islamic culture to intermediate and preparatory schools, to give recommendations, juristic advises to official and non- official offices as well.
  • Postgratuate Study : to enrich the foundations with researchers and educationists staff, contributing with scientific process the study of Islamic intellectual heritage, authenticity and innovation.
Conditions of Admission
  • Morning Studies
    Students of preparatory schools, vocational schools, Sunni Endowment and sh'ia Endowment will be accepted.
    The rate should not be less than %60 total 420.
    Age: should not be more than 24 years.
  • Evening Studies
    Students of preparatory schools and technical institutes will accepted.
    The rate should not be less than %60 total 420.
    According to the instructions at ministry of higher education and scientific research.
    The top students of vocational schools.
    Students of teacher training institutes.
    The interview and passing the test is necessary.
Student Activities
We call the talented students who wish to participate in student competitions that take place within the cultural week of the University of Kufa, to literary and artistic contributions to the Preparatory Committee of the festival in relations department at the head of the university or to inform the College of Jurisprudence from now on until 02/20/2010.

The doctoral student Razak Hussein Farhoud discussed his tagged which is known "Innovation in the knowledge system of the contemporary rhetoric thought" at 10 O'clock on 5-12-2011 on the hall of college of Jurisprudence.He got a degree meets.

College of Jurisprudence has established a dinner party marking the end of the administrative functions of Assistant Professor Abdul-Zahra Obaid the assistant to the dean for the scientific affairs and recognizes Dr. Hussein Sami Abdul-Sahib as a scientific assistant to the dean of the college on Thursday, 10.07.2010 .

The Department of Holy Quran and Hadith was established at the College of Jurisprudence in the academic year 2003-2004. The Department conducts researches in the areas of Quran sciences, Hadith and other studies in the Islamic Law (Sharia). It strive to achieve the university objectives in the formulation of a good citizen armed with science and to build the student's personality in compliance with  goals of the College of Jurisprudence in its quest to provide the community with scientific and religious personalities.
The Department of Principles of Fiqh (Jurisprudence) of the College of Jurisprudence was established in the academic year 2003-2004. This Department is an Islamic Law  priority, which have taken over several leading initiatives to address and deal with  jurisprudence current  issues and it raised the intellectual arena of contemporary jurisprudence, keeping pace with developments of new research fields. It has undertaken the responsibility to activate the leading role of Najaf as the capital of Islamic culture.
The Department of Arabic Language and Literature of the College of Jurisprudence was established in the academic year 2008-2009. It is one of the departments that characterized the specificity of cultural, religious and nationalist position of Najaf in the Arab and Islamic World, because it teaches the language of the Arabs, which is the language of the Koran, and the Arab literary heritage of all ages.  Hence the Arabic language on this basis is the building stone, the civilization material and a means of communication among different generations. It is clear that our language holds a great status, which is honored by Allah and revealed in the Holy Koran within certain holy verses which indicate that dignity and highly elevated place of the Arabic language.    
The Department of Doctrine and Islamic Thought of the College of Jurisprudence was established in the academic year 2008-2009.The aim of the teaching staff of this department to provide a balanced Islamic mind -based approach of discourse and do not overlook the culturally transmitted traditions. Asserting that the righteous doctrine is not only the one taken from the tradition and followers, but rather a confident and convincing fact. It thus seeks to produce a valid constellation of students in order to promote a culture of moderation in thought and reject extremism.
